Great Video: Technological Innovation ahead of their Time!

According to Donald Bell, “History is filled with brilliant ideas that changed the world and every idea must have sounded like the ravings of a lunatic at some point in time, before these bold visions took route and shaped the world we live in today.” The Sega Dreamcast, Logitech Fotoman, Motorola DynaTAC 8000X, Palm Pilot and Web TV all dramatically shaped the future of the technologically dependent world we live in today. This great video outlines technological innovation that was truly ahead of its time.

The Sega Dreamcast led the way for today’s consoles such as PlayStation and XBOX and the original Dreamcast design and influence can still be seen on today’s products.

The Logitech Fotoman was the first practical, all in one, digital camera sold to the public in the 1990’s that could store up to 32 photos, which could be translated directly to your computer. This clearly paved the way for advancements in cameras and ultimately, the digital camera, which is in every technology gadget we own today.

Motorola DynaTAC 8000X was the first cellular phone available for $4000, which allowed for 30 minutes of talk time and 30 phone numbers to be stored, demonstrating that cellular phones have come a long way from their original capabilities.

The Palm Pilot created the path for the personal digital assistant and ultimately paved the way for the smart phone, as well as the ability to connect with your computer and sync all of your data.

The most influential gadget is Web TV, which allowed for anyone with a phone line to put the internet on their home TV, predicting the smart TV trends and allowing for a simpler, more affordable way to jump on the internet, which proved true today with the high demand of portable tablets.
